In the dynamic and constantly changing world of automotive engineering, EDAG recognizes the need to invest in hiring the most cutting-edge young talent in the fields of engineering and technology. This helps us at EDAG make sure that we are staying ahead of the curve with the growing emphasis on electrification, autonomous driving, and sustainability. EDAG employees have been attending many career fairs in order to recruit top talent. Career Fairs have been serving EDAG as a crucial platform to seek the brightest minds and the most innovative students.
Within the fall recruiting season EDAG has attended seven career fairs. In September, EDAG attended career fairs at Central Michigan University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Georgia, Oakland University, and the University of Alabama. In October, EDAG has attended a career fair at Wayne State University, and will be attending Lawrence Technological University’s fair on October 19th. Within each of these career fairs EDAG has offered positions for summer internships and full-time positions for students. We were primarily seeking out students in computer science, software engineering, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering for our open roles.
Interacting with the up-and-coming talent at these career fairs has allowed us to meet prospective employees face-to-face, which has allowed our EDAG representatives to have more in-depth discussions with them. It has also allowed us to showcase EDAG’s company culture and interact with a diverse pool of talent.
EDAG’s recruiting efforts in the United States have been spearheaded by Frank Tymrak, the Director of Recruiting. Other EDAG employees and current interns have also traveled to various career fairs including, Christoper Grimmer, Ashleigh Judge, Nikola Rogers, Vincent Tran, and Renee Elian. When asked about attending Fall Recruiting Career Fairs EDAG employees said the following:
“Our Fall Career Fairs gave us a great opportunity to speak with some very talented students while also promoting the great things about EDAG. Engineers at all of the schools were excited to talk to us about our mobility solutions and we drew a lot of interest in our autonomous driving projects. We're looking forward to further developing these university partnerships and continuing to market EDAG”
– Frank Tymrak (Director of Recruiting)
“Being able to engage with such high caliber young talent in engineering and technology fields has been a great experience. It was fun to interact with students who are passionate about the work EDAG does”
– Renee Elian (Marketing Intern)
“It’s always a pleasure to connect with the students at some of the best universities in Metro Detroit. I especially enjoy talking with the Formula team members and hearing about improvements they are making to their vehicles for upcoming competitions. Those that can evaluate past performance and understand what needs to change to improve have bright futures in engineering, and it’s inspiring to see that start at such a young age.”
– Chris Grimmer (Project Coordinator)
“It was nice to be back on Oakland University’s campus. As an OU alumni, I was happy & proud to be around young, motivated students”
– Ashleigh Judge (HR Generalist) Career fairs are an integral part of EDAG’s talent acquisition and recruiting efforts, to ensure that we are hiring the best students. The students have been able to network with EDAG’s engineering, marketing, and administrative teams to see if EDAG is the right fit for them.
