DTE EV Ride & Drive event 2023

Since last year's DTE EV Ride & Drive event in Detroit, a handful of EDAG US’s engineers had the opportunity to attend once again this year in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Being that DTE is the leading energy supplier in Detroit, it comes as no surprise that the company has become such a major supporter of electric cars. Thus, DTE put on an incredible event not only displaying Detroit’s future, but also the steps they would take to ensure easy accessibility for all those who finally decide to make the switch from driving a gas-powered car to electric-powered car. A few important steps include:

  • Hosting events for potential buyers to learn about EVs
  • Offering rebates that cover almost all home charger installations
  • Investing billions in upgrades to their power grid infrastructure

Since the Ride & Drive event is in large part about furthering the adoption of electric cars, it comes as quite the enjoyment of EDAG US employees that once again attendees had the chance to drive what are the latest additions to the electric car market. This year, the engineers were most impressed with the F150 Lightning from Ford, the Polestar 2, and Tesla’s Model 3.

Similar to EDAG Group, DTE is doing what they can do to drive the future of mobility. Attending events like these in the United States expose EDAG US employees to the current state of electric vehicles and help give them ideas of where they should push the industry next.

A fun social event, and an optimal business opportunity for EDAG US, our engineers were able to come out of this event feeling updated and energized for what’s next in store. Keeping up with trends in the electric car market is extremely important for everyone at EDAG US and is crucial if the company is to continue moving towards the future. Our team is thrilled to be a part of this electrifying transformation of the automotive industry!
